During their years of producing Lambretta's, Innocenti promoted
the brand in many different ways, using a whole load of different
articles. For instance machine brochures for handing out to prospective
customers, accessory catalogues, posters, cigarette lighters, models,
diaries, were among the other things. Large items for shows and
events were produced, all with Lambretta or Innocenti logos from
large inflatable elephants and beach balls, to complete scooters. The dealers
also had their own items to help with the sale of scooters and spares,
dealer signs, printing blocks, display cabinets etc.
Many dealer signs were produced by the marketing division at Innocenti, these ranged from metal Lambretta main dealer plaques, to neon illuminated signs that were hung outside, or inside Lambretta dealers.

As Lambretta became a household name, as well as accessories and items for the actual scooter, you could also purchase models, toys and other Lambretta items in miniature. Matchbox to name but one made a series of die cast models, some even with side cars. Today these miniature items can sometimes be as valuable as their "life size" example they were modelled on.
Model range brochures, posters and other literature was of course always a good way to enlighten prospective customers to just how good your product was. Owners handbooks were also produced for each model, these listed such basic items as how to start your Lambretta and change the wheel. The information in the handbooks was always very basic, but then to a novice rider this was invaluable. Of course for riders who chose the Lambretta as a clean form of two wheeled transport, would need the Lambretta service agent to look after their scooter, every handbook detailed all service and main agent address in the back of the book. |

Innocenti also produced many scooters for display and promotional purposes, most famously the " cut out versions" and the gold pated TV.
Although Innocenti were probably know for the more famous Li Series 3 cut out, they also produced an LD version before this.
The attention to detail on both the LD and the Li version of the cut outs is quite amazing, every part imaginable has been cut to show the internals/workings of each part. |

The gold plated TV 175 series 3 was used in a number of motor cycle shows and events around the world. Probably the most plated one was when it was lent to Lambretta Concessionaries (UK) for the Earls Court Motorcycle Show in the 1960's. A huge and detailed publicity stunt took place whereby the gold plated TV was "stolen" from the show. Newspapers and other media covered the event, rewards were posted, police looked for the scooter. Lambretta then "recovered" the scooter and put it back on its centre stand place, letting on to all the whole event was a stunt!

The gold plated TV still survives today, and is housed in the shop of Vittorio of Casa Lambretta. |
